Baby Grace’s Newborn Photoshoot Southern Suburbs Cape Town

By February 27, 2015Latest Work

I love it when you connect with the parents.  We sat and drank coffee during feeds and looked at wedding albums (Amazing work Lauren Kriedeman http://www.laurenk.co.za/2011/06/cape-town-city-wedding-kim-brett/) and oohed and aahed over this perfect little gift called Grace.  I generally don’t like babies to cry on my watch but every now and then they get disturbed and we need to settle them with a little top up feed to keep them going longer in the shoot.  The trick is to be patient and wait for that moment when you know they off in sleepy milk heaven as I like to call it.  I always ask my moms to be open to messing with their attempted routine which usually has not been established by this stage anyway.  They always fall straight back into their pattern after the shoot anyway.  Babies are happier and easier to photograph when they are sound asleep and a little top up feed can be the perfect answer when all else fails :)  Grace you were an absolute angel and I can’t wait to see what a beautiful little girl you grow up into.  Thanks mom and dad for being such amazing hosts and for honouring me with the blessing of capturing these most very special first moments.
